Dear Elders and Colleagues,

On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee of the 53rd Annual Conference of the Paediatric Association of Nigeria; Akure PANConf 2023, I, with great pleasure, welcome you all to the City of Akure, the state capital of Ondo State, the Sunshine State!.

Permit me first, to express our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the National Executives of PAN, our reverred elders and indeed, all members of this noble association, for the opportunity given us to host this Conference and to serve you at this time. 

This Conference is unique, in that, it is being co-hosted by two sister states; Ondo (the Sunshine state) and Ekiti (the Fountain of Knowledge). The Theme for the Conference: Optimizing Child Healthcare In Nigeria Despite Current Socio-Economic Challenges" is apt and should stimulate robust discuss and engender submissions that should improve the welfare of the Nigerian Child. The Subthemes are also carefully selected for discussions as well.

Preparations are in top gear to provide excellent facilities for the Conference and ensure you all have an exciting and memorable time in Akure. We hope you would also create time to visit the various tourist sites in the two states such as; Idanre Hills, Ikogosi Warm Spring resort, Araromi Beach, the Cave of Ashes, Fajuyi Park, Afe Babalola University and Farms among many others.
